Baggage Regulations

In principle, your luggage should be carried by yourself due to the possibility of loss or damage.
However, if you have difficulty carrying it yourself, you can ask our staff for assistance.

Please understand that compensation for damage or loss of luggage is not possible in the following cases.

  • Fragile items or packaged food items, etc.
  • If an expensive product, such as a laptop, is placed in a travel package and damaged
  • Damaged luggage due to overloading, etc.
  • Poorly packaged luggage, etc.

Details • International Driving Permit : Must be stamped on "B", "D", or "E" type and issued by a member country of Geneva or Vienna Convention.
• Korean Driver's License : Must be held for At least 1 year after issuance. (Less than 1 year after the issuance is tolerated for international guests) 		• International Driving Permit : Must be stamped on "D" or "E" type and issued by a member country of Geneva or Vienna Convention.
• Korean Driver's License : Must be held for At least 1 year after issuance. (Less than 1 year after the issuance is tolerated for international guests)
• USFK Motor Vehicle Operator's Permit Holders Individuals who possess a United States Forces Korea (USFK) Motor Vehicle Operator's Permit are permitted to rent vehicles that specified on the Permit.
• Exchanged Korean driver's licenses can be used one year after issuance.
(However, the driving experience verification clause is exempted if a written embassy verification or apostille certificate is presented to confirm when the home country driver's license was acquired.)

Required Documents

Please present required documents when picking up your vehicle.

1. Passport : The English name on the passport and IDP must match.
2. Home Country Driver's License (Local Driver's license)
To verify the driver's driving experience. (At least 1 year of driving experience)
* Driver's licenses issued in China, Mexico, Indonesia, and Colombia are not accepted in Korea.
3. International Driving Permit (IDP)
The IDP must be issued by a country that is signatory to the Geneva or Vienna Convention.

Paper IDPs are accepted, and plastic driver's licenses are not valid.
* A local license translated to English cannot substitute the IDP.
* EU Driver's license, International Drive License and International Driving Document is not accepted in Korea.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation fees for reservations made directly on the The Safe Rent-a-Car website are subject to the standard car rental terms and conditions.
However, for reservations made through a separate reservation site (platform, etc.), the cancellation policy of that site applies.

  • If you cancel 24 hours before the vehicle pickup time, the rental fee paid will be refunded in full.
  • 2For cancellations within 24 hours of vehicle pickup time, 10% of the total payment (including additional service usage) will be deducted and paid to the customer.
    Depending on the card company's partial refund policy and circumstances, a refund may take 7 to 10 business days.
  • For cancellations after the pick-up time, please contact us by phone (82+-64-743-1515)
  • * If the rental contract is terminated through consultation with The Safe Rent-a-Car due to the customer's circumstances during the rental period, the company will deduct 10% of the remaining rental fee and pay it to the customer.

  • * In the event of a flight cancellation due to a natural disaster, you can get a full refund of the rental fee only if you present an official document of flight cancellation.
